Can anyone differentiate the difference between Madoff and GS and the reason why one man is sentenced 150years and the other business receives billions in TARP funds? I don’t understand how the regulatory authorities and justice system come to their decisions because both businesses were knowingly selling selling junk and lies to their customers. The only idea I have is that instead of Madoff pissing with the ol’boys in the clubhouse, he must’ve been pissing on their shoes.

At one point I worked with a former Goldman employee. He summed up what went on there with this quote a managing director once told him, “Don’t you understand our business model? We sell time bombs and move them around from customer to customer. The trick to is to make sure we’re not the ones holding them when they go boom!”
